The Hornets are returning to New Orleans for the 2007-08 season, that is for sure. That being said, much remains in the air. New Orleans had a difficult time selling out basketball games PK (that’s pre-Katrina). During their last season in New Orleans, the Hornets finished last in attendance. PK New Orleans proper was already one of the tinier NBA markets, and all of the smaller markets (ie Minneapolis) were able to draw on sizable population bases outside of their direct market (St. Paul). Other markets are victims of urban flight. New Orleanians flew to the suburbs too – the suburbs of other cities.
